View Full Version : Disappointing comparisons, A64 vs. P4 3.0...

I downloaded Sisoft Sandra last night and ran the CPU benchmarch on my emachines 6805.

Was bummed out to see how poorly it faired against the high end P4s, not even equalling the 2.66GHz P4...

Should I not have been so surprised?

(Virtual memory is set at 1000/1000MB; 9600 video card set at 393/229 with ATItools; power setting = 'always on'.)

Cheers,
Dave

eeeh, sandra is well known to be P4 optimized...
Nothing to worry about.

A64 vs. P4C are all over the internet, and to say the truth, A64 is doing very well, especially in real life testing, unlike in some synthetic tests like Sandra :saywhat: Believe it or not, A64 holds it's ground well against P4. Here is some feedback ... and there is a lot of it on the net:

besides, you can get a three hour bat life with an athlon 64, with a P4 you get about 1.5 hours, not bad.

phew... thanks, guys... I started to think maybe I'd jumped on the wrong bandwagon there, as I traded in my previous P4/2.66BHz for this here A^$... uh, I mean A64(!)

So ego-insecure, needing to see MY machine come out on top... (But you have to admit, it would be great to see Intel beaten!)
